CM opens surgeons conference

The 16th annual conference of the Association of Surgeons of India, Manipur Chapter was opened today at JNIMS by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
The inaugural function of the two-day conference was graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Health Minister L Jayantakumar MLA Ng Bijoy, Association of Surgeons of India, Manipur Chapter president H Manihar and national president Ramakant as presidium members.
The conference is being participated by delegates from different States of India as well as a surgeon based in the United States of America.
Speaking at the inaugural function, O Ibobi stated that the conference would provide a valuable opportunity for sharing information and new ideas among surgeons coming from different parts of the country.
He said that establishment of JNIMS would be able to make up shortage of doctors in Manipur, and also help poor patients who cannot afford to go outside the State for medical treatment.
He went on to claim that Surgery Department of JNIMS is now able to give best medical facilities at the minimal cost.
He also appealed to the doctors to maintain cordial relationship with patients.
Health Minister Jayantakumar also appealed to the doctors not to go beyond their professional ethics.
