Imphal, May 06 2010: Chief Minister O Ibobi who took a special flight to New Delhi today at the insistence of the Union Home Ministry is understood to have submitted a draft listing in the details, the reasons why the SPF Government took the decision not to allow NSCN general secretary Th Muivah to enter Manipur.

The cease fire is confined only within the State of Nagaland and with a large number of criminal cases pending against him, it would not have been right to allow Muivah to enter Manipur, the Cabinet had maintained.

Moreover there are apprehensions that his arrival could spark tension between the different communities, especially in the backdrop of the demand for a Greater Lim raised by the NSCN (IM).

During his sojourn at New Delhi, the Chief Minister met the Union Home Minister PC Chidambaram, Defence Minister AK Antony and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

The firm stand of the State Government was conveyed to the Central leaders in clear cut terms, said a source, while speaking with The Sangai Express.

The Chief Minister returned to Imphal today evening itself and straight upon his arrival, he convened a security meeting attended by the top brass of the security forces as well as other officials.

The officials present at the high level security meeting included the Chief Secretary, DGP, Deputy GOC of IGAR (S) in the absence of the IG among others.

This was followed by a meeting of the SPF Legislator Party meeting in the evening.

Briefing newsmen in the evening today, Government spokesman and IFCD Minister N Biren said that the high level security meeting discussed the situation at Mao which has turned volatile.

After discussing the matter minutely, it was decided to send in more re-inforcement tomorrow.

On the reports that Nagaland police have set up bunkers on the side of their territory near the border, Biren said that they have not received any official inputs so far.

He also debunked the report that the Assam Rifles did not assist in controlling the situation at Mao today.

On the meeting of the SPF Legislators which was held after the security meeting, Biren said that the Government still stands by its earlier decision of barring the entry of Th Muivah into the soil of Manipur.

The SPF Legislators have expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of three persons at Mao today and condoled their deaths.
