Imphal, March 08 2024:
Taking strong exception to the brutal assault of two Meitei Pangal men at Moreh yesterday, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has urged the Central Government to once stop shielding the Chin-Kuki narco terrorists and take up befitting actions against them.
The Committee also urged the Government to abrogate the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, update and implement National Register of Citizens (NRC) and take up action against the Central forces who don't do their job efficiently.
COCOMI, in a statement, said that they condemn the assault on the Meitei Pangal driver and his helper who also is a Muslim after blindfolding them by 'Chin Kuki narco terrorists' in the strongest terms.
The Committee said that the Chin-Kuki narco terrorists not only beat the two Muslim men black and blue but also snatched the truck which they brought to unload construction materials for a police barrack at Moreh and their mobile phones and it was inhuman.
Claiming that Chin-Kuki narco terrorists have been attacking the inhabitants of Manipur one after another and Meitei Pangal is not an exception, COCOMI continued that Meitei Pangals have been enduring the pain though many of their people have been killed and attacked by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.
COCOMI claimed that the Central Government, however, has been protecting these Chin Kuki narco terrorists even after 10 months of hostilities against the innocent people.
Reminding that the SoO agreement signed between the Government and Kuki militant groups expired on February 29 and the pact hasn't been renewed as of yet, COCOMI added that the SoO pact is technically inoperative now.
It is evident from the brutal assault of two Muslim men at Moreh that the Central Government has been giving free hands to Chin-Kuki narco terrorists, COCOMI said and urged the Government to give full power to the Central forces to take action against Chin Kuki narco terrorists.
