Periphery areas inspected for LS polls

Despite objection raised from different quarters not to conduct election before solution to the ongoing conflict in the state, preparations for the Lok Sabha elections have already begun in the state.
As a part of these preparations for the polls, likely in April or May, an official team led by Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subash and SP Rakesh Balwal inspected periphery areas of the district where polling stations are to be set up.
The team inspected Inganglok village in Heirok, which shares border with villages under Tengnoupal district and also talked with the locals.
Speaking to media persons, DC Subash informed that the inspection was conducted to check sites for setting up polling stations for the upcoming elections so as to ensure that the stations meet the mandated criteria.
He also urged the people to extend support for ensuring smooth conduct of the election.
