AR, army, CRPF celebrate International Women's Day

Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) celebrated International Women's Day at different parts of the state by organising various events including 'Run for Run' on Friday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the day was celebrated at Sajik, Molcham, Changpol and Phaisanjang villages under Chandel district, Manipur.
In celebration of International Women's Day, central security forces organised a dynamic Run for Fun' event at Moreh in Tengnoupal promoting camaraderie and fitness among participants.
The event, starting from the KLP Helipad in Moreh, encompassed a 4-kilo-metre route, uniting 15 Riflewomen, two civilian staff, and nine families in a collective effort towards ensuring health and community unity.
'Run for Fun' for women was also organised at Somsai, Chassad and Shang-shak garrisons in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Tamenglong Battalion AR organised a seminar at Apollo ground on the theme, 'Inspire Inclusion' for driving gender parity to make the observance impactful.
The 16 Kumaon Regiment celebrated International Women's Day at Phougakchao Ikhai with the participation of SP (Immigration) Laishram Priyadarshini, 9 IRB (Mahila) Battalion commanding officer Khoisnam Sharma, 16 Kumaon Regiment lieutenant colonel Birjit, Bishnupur SP Ksh Rabikumar, additional SP (law & order) Takhellambam Satyam and film director Meena Longjam among others.
International Women's Day was also organised by 143 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat with its commandant Ravinder Sharma, CH CRPF Imphal chief medical officer Dr Shivani Sharma, 143 Bn second in-command K Sonny Singh and others attended the function.
In Noney district, Assam Rifles organised International Women's Day celebration at Gaidimjang village on Friday.
A total of 70 women attended the event, where discussion was held on women's empowerment and role of women in a healthy society.
Also at Veitum Khullen village, Assam Rifles held an interaction with women civil society organisations and women of the village on the occasion of International Women's Day.
A total of 24 women including three women CSO representatives of Kuki Women Union (KWU) attended the event which commenced with speech by the company commander, followed by president of KWU.
Maram Battalion, led by the family welfare coordinator of 16 AR, celebrated the International Women's Day bringing together 65 families, 54 children and 27 riflewomen, echoing the battalion's dedication to promoting gender equality and uplifting women within the conununity living in the battalion premises on Friday.
The celebration featured a series of lectures and activities designed to inspire and empower attendees.
Deepa Chaudhary delivered a lecture on women empowerment, while Shubhra Chaturvedi enlightened the participants on self-care and self-love.
Riflewoman Richa also shared insights on the significance of International Women's Day, emphasising the importance of women's empowerment and equality.
