As celebrated across the globe, International Women's Day was widely celebrated across the State under the theme 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress' .
Bishnupur
Giving special emphasis to displaced women taking refuge at relief camps, ETA North-East Women Network celebrated Women's Day at Sendra Park and Resorts.
The event was graced by Oinam AC MLA Irengbam Nalini, Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti, Manipur State Commission for Women former Chairperson Dr Keisham Sobita and DC Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram as the presidium members.
As a part of the event, stalls were opened showcasing various handicraft products made by the displaced women staying at different relief camps.

ETA presented Woman of Substance Award 2024 to 12 selected women for their remarkable contributions in different fields.
Red Shield Division organised the Women's Day celebration at Phougakchao Ikhai attended by eminent women personalities including SP (Immigration) Laishram Priyadarshini; SP (Sports) Laishram Sarita; 9 IRB Mahila Battalion Commandant Konsam Sarma and film director Meena Longjam.
Bishnupur SP Ksh Ravikumar IPS, Additional SP Takhellambam Satyam and Lieutenant Colonel Birjit of 16 Kumaon Regiment were also present at the occasion.
The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion lauded the significant contributions of women in the overall development of the society.
Meanwhile, the Women's Committee Moirang College and the District Health Society, Bishnupur district jointly organised the Women's Day celebration at Moirang College today.
Chief Executive Officer, Moirang Municipal Council Kiyam Chandrakumar Singh; Moirang College Principal Md Raheijuddin Sheikh and Associate Professor of Physics Department of the college S Deben Singh and convener Women's Committee Moirang College Dr M Rita Devi attended as the presidium members of the occasion.
To mark the occasion of women's day, a voluntary blood donation camp and Nari Shakti Fitness Run was held at Phubala Government High School jointly organised by Green Brigade Manipur, Loktak Viewpoint Development Organization, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Bishnupur, Indian Red Cross Society Bishnupur District Branch, Phubala High School Relief Committee and Life Saviours Manipur in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Council RIMS.
Senapati
The District Administration, Senapati in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services, Nehru Yuva Kendra Senapati, One Stop Centre, Senapati District Women Association celebrated the International Women's Day today at DRDA Conference Hall.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS stated that women should be given due importance during the development process and opportunities should be provided to let women assume leadership roles.
She maintained that women should contribute equally in policy making to ensure that the concerns of women are addressed properly.
Highlighting that safety, health and education are the important sectors for women's progress, the DC stressed that women oriented programmes should be organised for the upliftment of women.
Thoubal
The Organising Committee and Women Cell of Waikhom Mani Girls' (WMG) College, Thoubal Okram celebrated Women's Day at the seminar hall of the college on the theme "To inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion so that we forge a better world".
The teachers of the college delivered lectures on women related topics during the programme.
On the other hand, Scheme Workers Union ( SWU) Heirok under the aegis of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) celebrated Women's Day at Heirok Part-II, Devi Mandop Leikai.
For Tengnoupal, United Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd Heinoukhong, Machi Block, Tengnoupal District and the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Chandel jointly celebrated the day at Khulsaibung community hall under the theme 'Count Her In Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment' .
All Manipur Women's Association also celebrated Women's Day at the relief camp at the relief camp opened at Konthoujam Khabam Bamdiar High School by distributing edible items, stationery items for children and other relief items.
Notably, the Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a variety of events underscoring the Assam Rifles commitment of empowering women in remote regions in particular.
The Assam Rifles organised various events including health camps, felicitation ceremony, awareness and career counselling lecture, lectures on women empowerment, menstrual health and hygiene, sports events, Run for Fun etc at Chandel, Kamjong, Kakching, Senapati, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul districts.
