International Women's Day observed across state

District administrations, security forces and civil societies observed International Women's Day on Friday at their respective offices as the speakers paid rich tributes to departed women leaders and contemporary activists for their indomitable spirit in fighting injustices.
In Chandel, the district administration observed the Day at the DC's conference hall with the participation of DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar, SDO (Chakpikarong), SDC (Chandel), DPO ICDS (Chandel), DPM (Chandel), supervisors, AWWs and officials of line departments.
Legal Aid Clinic, Kakching also commemorate the day at Kakching Lamkhai with Kakching Municipal Council caretaker councillor P Sanahal, Kakching Higher Secondary School retired principal Dr N Pramodini, Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup convener Ch Kalpana and PR English School former principal Kh Sundari as the presidium members.
Assam Rifles organised International Women's Day celebration at Gaidimjang village, Noney district, on Friday.
A total of 70 women attended the event, where a topic on women's empowerment and role of women in a healthy society was discussed.
At Veitum Khullen village, Assam Rifles held an interaction with women civil society organisations and women of the village on the occasion of International Women's Day.
A total of 24 women including three representatives of Kuki Women Union (KWU) attended the event which commenced with a speech by the company commander, followed by KWU president.
Mount Everest College Women s Cell and NSS, in collaboration with Senapati Police Women Help Desk and Mount Everest College of Teacher Education, also celebrated International Women's Day at Taphou Kuki callage community hall.
As a part of the event, Senapati additional SP Thangkhochon Haokip spoke on women's rights and protection of women against exploitation, while Mount Everest Teacher Education assistant professor Shangniring Nungchim highlighted women's pivotal role in the society.
Village s chief and chairperson, women society and villagers attended the event.
All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) observed the day on the theme 'Let us carry the struggle forward' at JN Manipur Dance Academy with DM College of Arts former principal Ch Sheelaramani and Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president Soraisham Memcha as the presidium members.
A two minutes' silence was observed in respect of those who lost their lives in the current conflict.
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2024 Friday, Tamenglong Battalion organised a seminar on the theme 'Inspire Inclusion' at Apollo ground in Tamenglong district headquarters.
The event was conceptualised with an aim to highlight achievements of women in diverse fields who had broken the shackles of stereotypes and played a pivotal role in shaping the society while inspiring several others around them.
The event showcased five speakers who delivered talks on various issues.
Captain Preeti Choudhary delivered a talk on 'Inclusion of women in Armed Forces' while Dr Gracy Pamei talked on 'Women in Healthcare.
Malianginliu Panmei also spoke on the topic of 'The role of Zeliangronpui women' as Samy Pamei presented a talk on 'Inclusion of women in Education and Dr Achingliu Kamei on "Women as keepers of History & Culture".
Among others, the event was attended by Tamenglong MLA Jangehmlung Panmei, SP Lanmiyo Luikham and Rani Gaidinliu Foundation Trust chairperson Ajikmai Pamei.
