Imphal, August 29 2015 :
The Congress Legislature Party held a meeting at the CM's Secretariat this afternoon.
As the meeting is current-ly in progress, what agenda are being discussed cannot be ascertained yet.
However, reliable sources said that the meeting will discuss the three Bills regarding protection of indigenous people, which will be passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 .
The State Government has introduced the three Bills in a special session of the Assembly yesterday.
The three Bills are i) The Protection of Manipur Peoples Bill, 2015, ii) The Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2015, and iii) The Manipur Shop and Establishments (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015 .
On the other hand, widespread democratic protests demanding the ILP system (or similar Bills that will protect the state's indigenous people) have been continuing in various parts of valley districts today.
Hunger strike protests in several places are also going smoothly.
Even though JCILPS came to an agreement with the government as a result of which the Assembly sessions are being called, it appealed the public to continue the democratic forms of protests till the day the Bills are formally passed.
