Saying that people want to live in peace and without fear, Bimola said that the controversial Act must be fully repealed from the State as well.
Maintaining that the State Government must also take up necessary steps to prevent encroachment on State boundary at Dzuko valley by Nagaland, Bimola said that the State Government must act fast before the uproar of the people reaches a crescendo.
Saying that Meira Paibee volunteers have been taking active part in different important issues of State, Bimola said that Meira Paibee movement intensified after AFSPA was imposed in the State in 1980 .
Echoing the same view, Phanjoubam Sakhi said that the State started witnessing escalation of Meira Paibee movement after security forces started harassing and killing innocent people and violating human rights under the cover of AFSPA.
As such, the draconian Act must be uprooted from the State in order to restore peace in the State, she added.
