AR beats up innocent person

Imphal, May 28 2015 :
On the basis of false information furnished by a masked informer Assam Rifles personnel beat up an innocent person.
In protest the masked informer who was later identified Sagolshem Lokeswor was banished from the Leimakhpng Chingmai village.
The injured labourer was identified as Laitonjam Tombabu (20) son of Late Jugeswor of Leimakhong Chingmai.
The accused informer was identified as Sagolshem Lokeswor (23) son of Late Tomba of Leimakhong Chingmai.
He was staying at a rented house.
The battered person said that on Wednesday night he was coming out after dumping sand inside the army camp.
While coming out Lokeswor who was driving a car had overtaken his truck from the wrong side and there was a road rage between them over it.
Later Tombabu along with a friend had gone to the house of Lokeswor to talk over the issue.
However he reportedly informed the Assam Rifles at Mantri Pukhri that "armed" persons had come to his rented house.
He was arrested at 9 pm on Wendesday from the house of an uncle.
He was allegedly stripped naked, blindfolded and was subjected to water torture.
He was also trampled with military boots.
A public meeting was held on Thursday to take stock of the situation.
Lokeswor is banished from the village.
There is relaxation for his wife.
He should also foot the medical bill for the victim.
Lokeswor said that he had been a member of KYKL but surrendered in 2010 .
But he has settled with a wife.
He also said that he will not repeat it.
