Tributes paid to Tupul landslide victims

Imphal, June 30 2024:
107 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) 11 Gorkha Rifles paid homage to the 30 brave-hearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty on June 29/30, 2022, when their COB was washed away in a massive landslide in Tupul, Noney district.
The second anniversary of the incident was commemorated in a befitting manner by all ranks of the unit as those present laid wreaths at both the battalion head-quarters in Noney district and the unit's permanent base in Jalapahar, Darjeeling.
The solemn ceremony at Jalapahar was attended by 15 Veer Naris and a large number of ex-servicemen.
The unit commemorates the day as 'Shahid Diwas' to serve as poignant reminder of the sacrifice made by the 30 bravehearts in the line of duty.
