URC providing treatment to addicts in relief camp

Imphal, December 14 2023: United Rehabilitation Centre (URC) Manipur is reportedly providing counselling and treatment service free of cost to drug users staying in different relief camps, who are willing to give up drug habits.

Informing this during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, URC president Maisnam Pushpakanta said that different organisations, institutions and individuals are providing assistance in varied form to the people displaced by the present crisis in the state.

Many have also died while fighting for safeguarding the integrity and territory of the state.

In such a situation, URC and its partners (rehabilitation centres) have been contributing in their own way by providing free treatment to drug users among the displaced people, who are willing to give up substance abuse.

As of now, 15 such users are undergoing treatment without any external assistance and same service will continue, he said.
