Noney, Tamenglong VCLAs protest bill delay

Villages Council Longmai Area (VCLA), Noney as well as Village Authority Chairman Council (VACC) and Chairmen & Secretaries Association, Tamenglong (CSAT) respectively took out protest rallies in Noney and Tamenglong districts on Thursday to denounce non-release of MGNREGS pending bills.
More than 1000 people from across the district took part in the Noney rally held from Longmai Bazar to Khumji Bazar.
The rallyists displayed placards and shouted slogans, demanding early release of the pending bills of daily wages and material components related to MGNREGS.
A memorandum was also submitted to the chief minister through the Noney district commissioner by the VCLA leaders.
In Tamenglong district, the mass protest rally on the same matter started from ID Park and culminated at Apollo ground.
The VACC and GSAT demanded release of the allocated material component (MC) and pending daily wages under MGNREGS.
Speaking on the sidelines of the rally, CSAT president Namsulung Gonmei cautioned that if the government fails to honour the people's demand, they would intensify the agitation in a manner as deemed appropriate.
More than 1000 MGNREGS Jobcard holders took part in the protest rally.
