Imphal, May 02 2023:
Strongly condemning the anti-social act of some unknown miscreants of breaking a temple and tearing down the 'Salai Taret' flag at Thingkangphai on April 29, Meetei Society, Churachandpur has urged the police to arrest the culprits at the earliest so as to avoid recurrence of similar unwanted activities and ensure peaceful coexistence of all communities in Churachandpur.
In a release, Society's president M Thoiba Singh referred to the statement of Thingkangphai Village Authority condemning the reckless action and expressing regret for inability to prevent such anti-social activity is a clear evidence of love, care and protective mentality.
"We thankfully acknowledge their concern.
A real Churachandpur denizen is the one who puts effort to ensure peaceful coexistence in peace and harmony and not the one who disturbs it," it said.
The Society also conveyed gratitude to Kangleipak Kanba Lup, Manipur for urging the police to file a 'Suo Moto' case against the culprits and the Arambai Tenggol for offering to reconstruct the dismantled temple.
