AR induces surrender, nabs two UGs

Somsai Battalion of IGAR (South) reportedly succeeded in inducing surrender of two active cadres of KCP (PWG) in the presence of police on April 30 at Somsai in Ukhrul district.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that relentless efforts of Somsai Battalion Assam Rifles to convince insurgent cadres to join mainstream yield result as the two active cadres of KCP (PWG) surrendered along with one point 22 pistol with magazine and 10 live rounds and two Chinese hand grenades.
The surrender will not only ensure assisting cadres to exit unlawful approach but also to rebuild their lives for transformation and reconciliation.
The surrendered cadres after completion of formalities will be sent for formal surrender ceremony organised by the government, the PRO said without disclosing details of the surrendered duo.
Meanwhile, Moreh Battalion of IGAR (South) apprehended an active PREPAK-Pro cadre in general area Haolenphai junction, Moreh on April 30.In a release, the PRO informed that based on specific input regarding movement of insurgent cadre from his safe house in general area Hessin towards Haolenphai junction, an operation was launched by the team of Moreh Battalion in Haolenphai junction area.
The team intercepted a suspicious individual coming over the Indo-Myanmar Border towards Haolenphai junction.
During preliminary questioning, the individual confessed to be an active PREPAK PRO cadre.
The apprehended cadre has been handed over to Moreh police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Battalion in an operation apprehended an active cadre of the banned outfit Kuki Independent Army (KIA) at Mata Lambulane in Churachandpur district on Monday.
Based on specific input, the troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation which led to the apprehension of the cadre.
The apprehended cadre has been handed over to Churachandpur police station for further investigation.
