The Meetei Society lauds efforts of community leaders

The Meetei Society, Churachandpur in view of the tense situation prevalent in the district, commended the sincere efforts of different community leaders who have been striving to maintain peace and harmony.
The Meetei Society, Churachandpur president in a press note acknowledged the concern of the Thingkangphai Village Authority by issuing a press statement denouncing 'the reckless and anti-social act of destroying temple and tearing Salai Taret flag which is sacred to Meetei/Meitei community at Thingkangphai by some miscreants on April 29, 2023' .
'A real Churachandpurian is the one who puts effort to ensure peaceful coexistence in peace and harmony and not the one who disturbs it', added the statement.
The society also extended gratitude to Kangleipak Kanba Lup, Manipur for urging the Police to file a "Suo Moto Case" against the culprits and the Arambai Tenggol for offering reconstruction of the dismantled temple.
The Meetei Society while denouncing the anti-social act of the unknown miscreants, urges the police to arrest the culprits at the earliest so as to avoid recurrence of similar unwanted activities that would disrupt peaceful coexistence of all communities in Churachandpur.
