Imphal, June 27 2012:
As a part of the agitation to demand the Manipur Assembly to pass a resolution for the implementation of ILP system in Manipur during the monsoon session that began today, a mass sit-in protest was held today at Keishampat Lairembi Lampak.
The agitation was participated by titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba apart from various civil society organisations' members and students.
FREINDS president Sapamcha Jadumani, who took part in the sit-in, said implementation of ILP is the only way out to protect the indigenous people.
He asserted that series of agitations are in line if the ongoing session of the House fails to pass any resolution for the implementation of the ILP system.
FREINDS had earlier announced to launch series of agitation demanding the Assembly to pass implementation of ILP system during the Assembly session that has begun today including launching of fast unto-death stir by K Hirahan Sharma; imposing bandh along the National Highways.
