RPF alleges third degree method

Imphal, November 24 2011: The proscribed RPF has alleged that the Indian military has been using third degree methods of torture with wicked design to exterminate the Manipuri nation from the face of the Earth.

A press statement issued by the outfit's Department of Publicity chief Taohangsu Heiremcha cited the case of a 23 year old youth from Tangjeng Khunjao, Thoubal district who was allegedly subjected to third degree methods of torture by 27 Assam Rifles posted at Sugnu so that the youth cannot breed any offspring for good.

Many innocent civilians were arrested by the Indian military after falsely branding them as revolutionary cadres and they were subjected to third degree methods of torture including electric shock on private parts, forcing the detainees to drink acid and other unknown liquids, it alleged .

In the last 62 years of the alien rule, Manipur has witnessed and endured a great many number of extreme forms of harassment and subjugation.

The chastity of many women of the land have been outraged and a large number of innocent civilians have been murdered in addition to rampant destruction of properties, the outfit alleged.Questioning what the people can do to stop such repressive measures of the Indian military, the outfit remarked that local MLAs have been donning the role of pacifiers to bury the incidents instead of mobilising the people for strong civil movements against the excesses committed by security forces.

On the other hand, it appears that people are always swooned by the fabricated and false words of the MLAs.

People should be aware that the Indian military has launched a new strategy to make all male population of Manipur incapable of breeding offspring, the RPF alleged.

At the same time, the military has taken the role of a benevolent force by organising medical camps, extending assistance to snake-bite victims and distributing boats to fishermen under their Military Civic Action programme as if there is no hospital/health centre or pharmacy in the State.

The military is also directly interfering in the civil administration by engaging in such activities as sponsoring educational tours for students etc.

It is in records how Manorama, Ahanjaobi Chanu, Chanu Rose and others were raped and murdered in the most brutal manner by the Indian military, the outfit recalled.

And now, they are organising even the traditional festival Ningol Chakkouba as if they (military) are blood brothers of Manipuri women.

Pointing that the Indian military is largely constituted by mainland Indian whose culture and practices are incompatible with those of Manipur, the outfit asked which Manorama they would target next time.

The savage side of the Indian military has been already exposed before the international community by the innumerable cases of human rights violation committed by them.

Stating that the deceitful but alluring activities of the Indian military would not be long lasting, the proscribed RPF called upon the mass not to let themselves beguiled by the benevolent mask put up by the Indian military.
