The Ningthemcha Karong Meira Paibi Lup has appealed to the State Government to refrain from taking actions against the Arambai Tenggol volunteers who have been been playing an indispensable role in fighting the aggression of the Kukis ever since the outbreak of the conflict in May last year.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, Ningthemcha Karong Meira Paibi Lup secretary RK Sunita said that the volunteers of Arambai Tenggol are all young individuals who should be pursuing their studies and career.
"The aggression of armed Kuki militants have compelled these youths to take up the responsibility to protect the unity and integrity of their motherland", she added.

She clarified that the volunteers who are guarding the villages in the peripheral areas of the valley districts are not against the State or Central Government, they are fighting to protect innocent civilians and the integrity of Manipur.
She also cautioned that if the Government fails to act as per the wishes of the people, the mothers will take up intense agitation to protect their sons.
Appealing to the State Forces to not lay down arms, Sunita asserted everyone should acknowledge and motivate the personnel of Manipur Police Commando and IRB/MR who have been fighting at different places to safeguard the security of the people and integrity of the State.
Further, expressing serious concern over the non-distribution of rice under NFSA, Sunita appealed to the authorities concerned to distribute the rice within a week to the public who have been suffering due to the prolonged conflict.
