The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Thoubal conducted a certificate distribution programme for successful beneficiaries under PM Vishwakarma scheme at the WWAGS Central hall Wangjing, in Thoubal district today.
The programme was graced by Nepram Kunjo Singh, Chairman JSS Thoubal, KI Meitei, chief advisor WWAGS as the president and chief guest respectively while Narengbam Binoy, former councillor Ward number 5, Wangjing Lamding Municipal Council (WLMC), Heikrujam Gourango Singh, former councillor Ward number 6 WLMC; Yumnam Ibopishak ,former councillor Ward 3 WLMC; L Jelshyam Singh, Associate Professor Thoubal College; L Premananda Singh, general secretary WWAGS and H Dhiren chairman JSS, Thoubal attended as guests of honour.
In his keynote address, Karanjeet Laishram, Director of JSS, Thoubal, emphasized on the critical need for a substantial skill pool in India to combat poverty and unemployment.
He expressed appreciation for the Government of India's role in providing essential infrastructure to tackle these societal challenges effectively.
Other dignitaries extended their congratulations to the Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
They praised the efforts of JSS, Thoubal, in imparting valuable skills and recognized the positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
They also motivated the recipients to utilize their acquired skills for personal growth and national development.
L Jelshyam raised a crucial concern about the credit to be provided by banking partners under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
His emphasis on the financial aspect of the program reflects the importance of ensuring comprehensive support for beneficiaries beyond skill development.
The collaboration between Government bodies, educational institutions, and organizations like JSS showcases a collective effort in building a skilled and empowered workforce for the nation's progress, he added.
It may be mentioned that the PM Vishwakarma scheme is a scheme taken up by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Certain benefits under this scheme includes collateral free loan upto rupees 3 lakh, toolkit incentive of rupees 15 thousand, training for skill upgradation with stipend , marketing support and others.
