Jinta picks five as LCCC inch closer to quarters with 57-run thrashing of YUCC

LCCC, Lilong Chajing thrashed YUCCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai by 57 runs for the second straight Group B win in the ongoing 1st Khomdram (O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament.
LCCC gathered 144/6 after electing to bat first and bowled out YUCC for 87 runs in 18 overs courtesy Jinta who enjoyed a five wicket haul at Langthabal Public Ground to inch towards quarter finals.
Krishna scored an unbeaten 46 off 41 balls while Rakesh and Pratap contributed 21 and 34 runs to lift LCCC to 144 in an innings which saw Somorjit (2/19), Noushad (2/30) and Manikumar (2/33) pick two wickets apiece for YUCC.

In the chase, YUCC had a stuttering start and slumped to 87 all out despite Noushad trying his best by adding the highest 33 runs as Jinta (5/12) and Krishna (2/6) shared crucial seven wickets for LCCC.
Jinta was eventually adjudged man of the match.
In another Group B match staged later in the afternoon, KCC, Kongba notched up a 30-run victory over UCC-Red, Uripok for their win in two matches.
KCC piled up 147 runs for 8 wickets after choosing to bat first courtesy of Robertson's 52-ball 75, Devakanta's 19 and Bishorjit's 15 not out.
UCC's Jugal picked three wickets in this innings by conceding 27 runs in 4 overs as Nandakumar claimed two wickets (2/19).Brojen and Ramesh also clinched a wicket apiece in this innings.
UCC however failed to maintain momentum in the chase and ended up gathering 117 despite Jugalkishore 33 and Nandakumar 31 leading from the front.
Sanjoy (3/8) and Robertson (2/19) and Devkanta (1/15) shared six wickets for KCC while also keeping the run rate in check.
Robertson of KCC who produced an all-round performance was adjudged man of the match.
