MICF formed, Meira paibi lup floated

A forum under christened Manipur Indig-enous Conservative Forum (MICF) has been formed by like-minded members and volunteers in a meeting held at the New Hotel Anand Continental on Sunday.
In a release, MICF conve-ner Irom Sandeep Mangang and publicity secretary Ng Romesh Singh urged the state and central govern-ments to take firm actions to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
MICF also pledged to work for upholding interest of Manipur and its people and render all possible support in upholding unity and identity of Manipur.
Meanwhile, in solidar-ity to suffering of people of Manipur owing to the restive situation, 14 MICF volunteers donated blood during a Mega Blood Do-nation Camp organised at RIMS Hospital Department of Blood Transfusion.
Meanwhile, meira paibi groups of Nongpok Sekmai formed Apunba Meira Pai-bi Lup (AMPAL), Nongpok Sekmai with the state ob-jective to unite and protect the land.
In a release, AMPAL in-formed that Kh Guni has been appointed as president, Sinam Surnalata as general secretary and Y Bimolata as organisation secretary among others.
The release denounced the biased attitude and action of Assam Rifles and further alleged that AR troops re-mained as muted spectators when houses were burnt down by Kuki militants.
AMPAL also demand-ed that search operations should cover both hills and valley areas rather that lim-ited the preemptive security measures only in the plains.
It is also termed as re-gretful that Union home minister Amit Shah misin-terpreted Meetei's demand for ST as the root cause of the conflict.
