Keithel body pitches for ST recommendation

Imphal, April 01 2024: Khwairamband Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee for Peace has demanded the state government to send the recommendation for inclusion of Meetei/ Meitei in the Scheduled Tribe list, before conduct of the ensuing Lok Sabha election.

Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club here on Monday, Committee co-convenor H Bino said that they strongly object holding the election as the state is facing an existential threat.

Even though candidates make promises before election, they would remain quite once they win the election.

As such, the government should send the recommendation to the Central government only after which they could participate in the election freely, she said.
