Financial aid provided to families of Leithao victims

Bishnupur, December 14 2023: Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup (BAAL) provided Rs 20,000 cash assistance each to the bereaved families of Rocky Thingom of Torbung Bazar, and Ningthoujam Tomba of Salankonjin Part 2, who were allegedly killed by Kuki militants in captivity at Leithao village in Tengnoupal district recently.

A team of BAAL led by its president L Devachand visited the two bereaved families, who are staying in a relief camp at Kumbi Leirak Achouba, and handed over the cash assistance as a mark of solidarity in their losses.

United Development Club and Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Ngaikhong Khullen & Ngaikhong Siphai, organised a condolence meet in honour of the 13 martyred youths.

Floral tributes were paid to their photos and a two-minute silence was observed in their memories.

The two bodies also contributed Rs 30,000 towards construction of memorial complex for the 13 martyrs.
