AR conducts medical/polio, anti-drug camp

Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on Drug Awareness and Abuse among Youth' at Poi village, Ukhrul district on Tuesday evoking appreciation from the village authorities for undertaking the in-depth session for the village youth.
According to PRO 1GAR (S), the village authorities also proposed to undertake and welcome similar strides to enlighten the youth and people of all ages in Ukhrul district.
Assam Rifles also organised a pulse polio vaccination camp on Monday, as part of the three-day National Pulse Polio Vaccination drive (March 3-5), at Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West district to ensure widespread immunization against polio, a preventable but potentially debilitating disease.
During the vaccination drive, total Of 81 kids from the Garrison and nearby villages, aged up to 5 years, were vaccinated against polio.
Assam Rifles' endeavour exemplifies their commitment to serving not only the nation's security but also its health and well-being even during challenging times, the PRO said.
Meanwhile, a medical camp was organised for locals of Molphei village, Tengnoupal district on Tuesday during which 40 villagers including women and children were examined.
A special focus was given on educating the villagers about communicable diseases and ways to prevent them, said the PRO in another release.
