Imphal, July 05 2023:
Representatives of Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) on Wednesday called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey and put forward a proposed for bridging the trust deficit between the Meitei and Kuki communities.
In a release, MIYC informed that purpose of meeting the Governor at Raj Bhawan was aimed at initiation of a feasible peace process to end the crisis in the state.
Among the issues raised by sev eral CSOs to resolve the turmoil, the Governor warmly welcomed their proposal for a solution in bridging the trust gap between Meitei and Kuki communities by means of technical and analytical means.
The proposal elaborated about using IR enabled tethered drones with data connectivity powered by VSAT and its deployment at vulnerable and focussed locations from where live video feeds could be transmitted to the Control and Command Centres in Imphal or any other station/locations 24/7, it said.
Its proposals include showing live video feeds of Meiteis' movements in vulnerable areas to Kuki CSOs, and like wise Kukis' movements to Meitei CSOs thereby enabling both the communities to disseminate the current conditions to their respective communities.
These processes can be seen live 24/7 for many days and hence apprehensions, rumours and assumptions will be reduced.
Moreover, SoO designated camps can be assessed for any movement, MIYC recommended and suggested that immediate actions and measures be taken up by authority concerned in case of any movement detrimental to the peace process.
