Saving Manipur without Meetei meaningless: Pramot

Imphal, May 20 2024: Maintaining that strengthening Meetei community is a must in order to protect Manipur, Meitei Leepun chief Pramot said that saving Manipur without Meetei is meaningless.

Attending the birth anniversary of prince Herachandra held at the Langol office of Meitei Leepun, here, on Monday, Pramot cautioned that as there will be noManipur without Meetei, strengthening the community should be the top priority of stakeholders concerned in order to uphold unity and integrity of Manipur.

It is with this idea that Meitei Leepun was formed in 2015, he said, adding that the organisation carries out its activities based on the ideals of Manipuri hero Herachandra.

Stating that the present conflict in the state is a struggle to save Meetei, he called upon every member of the community to play their part while urging all Meeteis to understand their roles and responsibilities towards the motherland.

Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of prince Herachandra at the event.
