Torch rally denounces Govt's action

Under the aegis of Kiyam Amureijam Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, a torch rally was taken out in the locality on Friday night denouncing the attempt being made to arrest the village volunteers, disarming of village volunteers and also demanding resolution of the ongoing conflict.
Speaking to media persons, one of the meira paibi activists, named, Akoijam Chitreswori emphasised that government must resolve the crisis at the earliest as people want peace.
Mentioning that the village volunteers did not happily take up arms, she asserted that they should not be arrested by security forces and their arms not confiscated until the conflict is resolved.
Chitreswori also said that the central government's biased role in the ongoing conflict with the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist is highly condemnable.
Centre should immediately stop its attempt to wipe out and suppress indigenes of the state and resolve the crisis, she further demanded.
Joining the protest, a 5-year-old girl Sorensambam Lingjel appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the ongoing conflict and restore peace in Manipur.
The protest which began from Kiyam Amureijam Leikai concluded at Kiyam Babu Bazar.
