World Intellectual Property Day observed

Waikhom Mani Girls' (WMG) College, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)-Cell and Department of Geology jointly observed World Intellectual Property Day at the College's seminar hall, Thoubal Okram on Saturday.
The observance held under the theme 'IP and SDGs: Building our Common Future with Innovation and Creativity' was attended by WMG College principal professor H Manoranjan Sharma as chief guest and assistant professor Ksh Rajendra Singh as president, while Department of Geology head Dr RK Ranjita Devi and MASTEC Patent Information Centre (PIC), Manipur project staff lecturer L Surjit Singh were present as guests of honour.
At the occasion, professor H Manoranjan enlightened the congregation about Intellectual Property Rights and explained about associated issues like patents, copyright, trademark, etc.
He also exhorted the attendees to chalk-out innovative ideas and pursue them successfully.
As part of the event, L Surjit raised awareness among students about intellectual property rights, while a quiz competition was conducted and winners were awarded prizes.
