Imphal, June 30 2024:
Advising the government of India not to underestimate the Kuki narco-terrorists carrying out attacks and threatening Meetei community, Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) has cautioned the centre against any sort of leniency against Kuki narco-terrorists, allegedly supported by significant drug mafias.
In a statement to the media, Council president Mayanglambam Thoiba Meitei said that the Kuki narco-terrorists' demand for separate administration in districts bordering Myanmar is their first step, following years of discussions, to initiate a drug war against India.
Stating that the Kukis are a community without a homeland, he mentioned that they have been driven out of Bangladesh and Myanmar and are now fighting for survival to create a "Kukiland" in Manipur.
The false narrative of Kukis, claiming that the Meeteis started the violence, is a strategy to secure their own separate land.
The demand for "Kukiland" by the Kuki narco-terrorists, carving out districts of Manipur, is not justified as these areas are not entirely dominated by the Kukis.
When the Naga organisations begin to claim that Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi and Chandel are land of the Nagas, there will be no place left for the Kuki narco-terrorists.
Additionally, Churachandpur district was named after King Churachand and has been a Meetei area since ages.
Realising that they cannot realise separate administration easily, the Kuki narco-terrorists decided to forcibly seize it, leading to the conflict with the Meetei community, a fact that is becoming crystal clear every day.
The drug mafias backing the Kuki narco-terrorists aim to disintegrate India and corrupt the youth through drugs, he maintained.
Thoiba also stated that since the Churachandpur and Moreh routes, previously used for drug trafficking, have become impassable, the supply routes to various states is now through Mizoram and Assam.
As a result, drugs reaching mainland India are being facilitated by the Kuki narco-terrorists.
Recounting settlement of Kukis in Moreh, he said that one Solim Baite and his family from Myanmar came to Moreh in 1961.Since then, as the Kukis were unable to reside in Myanmar, they began to settle in Moreh one after another in large number gradually.
Due to their inclination to settle and increase their population wherever they reside, the Kuki community has started naming their newly settled areas as "Veng" to mark their presence.
It is suspected that such places may exist in Delhi, Mumbai, Assam, Kolkata, and other cities where the Kukis have established settlements.
The government of India should take these steps of the Kuki people who are experts in telling lies and spreading misinformation, seriously lest they claim Delhi, which is the capital of India, as the ancestral land.
