3 kids among 4 killed in Ukhrul accident

Imphal, May 20 2024: Three minors were among four people killed in a road accident which occurred Monday morning at a spot between Maichon and L Phungthar villages in Ukhrul district while two minors suffered injuries.

The deceased minors have been identified as Yarsing Lungleng (10), and Ngacheingam Lungleng (12), both sons of Katuishang Lungleng of L Phungthar, and Wortha Kashung (8) of Shimphungrim village, while the other deceased person was Ningyo Raikhan (38) of L Phungthar village.

The injured minors have been identified as Chihangam (13) and Sokhayung Yangya (11) .

Both are undergoing treatment at JNIMS hospital.

According to local sources, the accident occurred when a red-coloured Maruti Van plunged into a gorge in between Maichon and L Phungthar villages while navigating a narrow road and fell into a nearby river.
