Tree saplings planted at Thoubal, Kakching

Thoubal/Kakching, July 16 2023: As part of 74th Van Ma hotsav, fruit-bearing and other tree saplings were planted by Thoubal Forest Division Range, Ningombam Young Pioneer Club (NYPC) ana Iramdam Manipur, Khang-abok under the aegis of DFO, Thoubal at Ningombam Mini Stadium on Sunday.

The programme was attended by DFO Th Lokendro, Thoubal range officer S Samungou, Kakching range officer L Dinesh, Mayai Keithel beat officer Surendro, retired beat officer L Dhananjoy and others.

Meanwhile, Alliance for Development Alternatives-Manipur (ADAM) Kakching as part of its one month-long 'Ching Kashi Umang Kanshi' campaign organised mass tree plantation programme at Angaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching on Sunday.

The plantation drive was attended by ADAM former president & DM University vice chancellor professor Nongmaithem Rajmuhon Singh; Macha Chanu, Kakching president Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini; Sanjoy Football Coaching Centre, Kakching; Indrakumar Boxing Institute, Kakching trainees; and ADAM and Macha Chanu members.

During the programme the( volunteers planted around 150 saplings at the western side of Angaan Ching and besides road.

Etfrher on Saturday, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching District Branch and ADAM planted around 50 saplings at the park as part of'Ching Kasi Umang Kansi' and 74th Van Mahotsav.

Later, mass tree plantation was carried out at Thongjao Makha Leikai playground by members and personnel of Thongjao Apunba Meira Paibi, SWC Thongjao, Forest Beat Office Waikhong BO and Thongjao relief camp inmates.

On the other hand, District Sports Association (DSA), Kakching planted nearly 800 saplings around its playground in connection with 74th Van Mahotsav.
