BJP intimate Central leaders
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, July 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party Manipur Pradesh has apprised the Union Home Minister, party President Venkaiah Naidu and former Home Minister and Leader of the Opposition LK Advani on the prevailing situation and uncertain future of Manipur.

State Unit BJP in its representation addressed to the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil urged him to direct the State Government to take appropriate action to identify the culprit(s) involved in the brutal killing of Th Manorama after arrest.

Giving a detailed account of issuance of arrest memo by the 17 AR personnel to pick up Manorama from her Bamon Kampu residence only to be found dead in die morning the State BJP also highlighted the deep agony of the State people that had constrained the women folk to protest nude to air their hurt sentiment of prolong depression at the hands of security force personnel operating in the State.

It also conveyed to the party leaders that imposition of indefinite curfew by the State authorities would only aggravate the already tense situation rather than bring solution to the delicate issue.

In his message to the BJP President Venkaiah Naidu and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani State unit president Th Chaoba urged them to place the matter at the floor of the Parliament during the ensuing session and ensure that justice prevails by booking and punishing the guilty Assam Rifles personnel.

Meanwhile, for State BJP president M Bhorot has strongly condemned clamping of indefinite curfew to subdue the genuine grievances of the people who had been suffering untold miseries due to highhandedness of armed forces.

Sudden imposition of curfew had not only endangered the lives of the young school going children but had put severe pressure upon the common people to earn their daily meals due to prolonging the curfew period.

Has any concerted measure been formulated by the Congress-CPI Govt to address the problem of the daily wage earners and why has the State Government whose party is at the helm of affair in the Centre failed to take any action against the guilty personnel till date, questioned the BJP MLA.

Unlike the past where the State Govt could transfer blame to the Central Govt for differences in party affiliation laxity in pulling up the guilty personnel in consultation with Central leaders at the present juncture speaks volume of the efficient governance of the SPF Govt, charged Bhorot.
