Endorsing the movement launched by the people and submission of memoranda in the wake of the custodial killing of Th Manorama Devi the United Committee Manipur demanded that State Government and all the people's representatives to enact their roles positively.
Appreciating the democratic movement of the people of the State while condemning the use of brutal force and fire power by the security personnel to subdue the democratic agitation the UCM demanded arrest and prosecution of guilty 17 Assam Rifles personnel and shed narrow political illusion by all concerned political parties and approach the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister to remove Assam Rifles from Kangla.
In case the Ministers, MLAs and all the political parties fail to take responsible action they would be considered as anti-Manipuri, cautioned the body.
