Committee appeals for 10-minute black-out today

The Co-ordinating Committee Against the Action of Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorists & Illegal Immigrants has urged the people to observe a 10-minute black-out in every household from 6pm Monday on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, to convey the message to the union government that Manipur has become a land of no sunrise.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday, Committee chairperson Chana Lembi said that many communities across the globe would be celebrating Diwali.
Similarly, in Manipur too, many would be eager to join the celebration.
However, considering the present crisis in the state, all of us should switch off the light from 6 pm to 6.10 pm as a mark of respect to those who laid down their lives for safeguard of Manipur and people amid the conflict situation.
She also said that black-out call is an attempt to convey the message to the union government and to the whole world that the people of Manipur are living still in darkness and waiting for the Sun to rise.
