Many demand safe release of missing boys

Imphal, November 12 2023:
Yaipha Lamjing Nupi Lup and Eastern Popular Club today staged a sit-in demonstration in front of Thoidingjam Lairembi, Khurai Sajor Thoidingjam Leikai, demanding the safe release of the two students namely Maibam Avinash and Ningthoujam Anthony, who have been missing since November 5 .
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the sit-in, Yaipha Lamjing Nupi Lup secretary Ningthoujam Premila urged the State Government to trace the whereabouts of the two boys and hand them over to their respective families.
She also appealed to the State and Central Government to take immediate steps to end the conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.
Premila further urged the Government to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur at the earliest to identify and deport illegal foreigners.
Similarly, Kanto Sabal Nupi Lup and Village Development Committee also jointly staged a sit-in demonstration demanding the Government to trace the whereabouts of Maibam Avinash and Ningthoujam Anthony at Kanto Sabal, Imphal West.
At the sit-in, women folk of the area appealed to the Government to find the missing boys at the earliest and hand them over to their families.
They also demanded the Government to apprehend the kidnappers and award befitting punishment as per the law.
