Imphal, April 27 2024:
Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has denounced that Mayai Lambi College principal Dr Y Bihari for allegedly failing to refund the additional amount charged from students for filling up examination forms since April 2023 .
In a release, FESOK secretary Education & Library Y Sumanta Luwang recalled that Mayai Lambi College principal issued a no tice for filling up forms for appearing in BA, BSc 4th and 6th Semester examination 2023 .
When students exerted pressure for reducing form fill up fee, several students had completed the process as the last date was nearing.
Later, the college authority approved their demand and a new notification issued reducing Rs 400 from the total amount of form fill fee.
The students then appealed for refunding the additional amount taken from them, Sumanta conveyed, while adding that the principal too assured of returning the additional amount but failed to do so since April 2023.In this regard, students and guardians complained to FESOK and subsequently the organisation visited the college and met the principal to discuss the matter.
Unfortunately, the college principal made uncivil remarks to the visiting members of the organization, Sumanta said.
Stating that the disrespectful and impolite remarks made by the principal to FESOK, a student body working tirelessly and sincerely with dedication for the welfare of the students, is unfortunate, he demanded the principal Dr Y Bihari to apologise to the body within three days.
Otherwise, he should bear all the consequences, Sumanta cautioned.
He also urged the government and authorities concerned to look into the matter.
