Imphal, March 05 2024: Kuki militants launched another fresh round of attack in Koutruk village on Tuesday night around 9 using bombs and high calibre weapons.

Village volunteers as well as state security forces deployed in the area retaliated leading to a gunfight till late night.

There was no report of any casualty on either side till the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, a combined team of Kangpokpi district police and 5/9 Gorkha Rifles on Tuesday conducted search operation near Sadar Joute and T Mongbung villages under New Keithelmanbi police station, recovering one each CMG with magazine, 9mm pistol with magazine, country made mortar, country made pump gun, 2 inch mortar unexploded HE bomb, 2 inch Mortar unexploded smoke bomb, country made mortar shell, 36 HE hand grenade with detonator, Baofeng set with charger, and 35 rounds of 5.56 mm and 55 of 7.62 mm .
