Women duo among four held with IMFL

Imphal, May 02 2023: A combined team of Kakching district police commando unit and Pallel PS arrested four persons including two women along with huge quantities of IMFL/DIC at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai on Tuesday.

The arrestees have been identified as Thongam Dingku Meitei (25) s/o Th Kumar Meitei of Pallel Maning Leikai, and Moirangthem Rabi Meitei (40) s/o M Nandabi Meitei, Salam Yaimabi Devi (55), w/o (late) S Nersing and Moirangthem Jamuna Devi (50) w/o (late) M Munal Singh, all three from Pallel Mamang Leikai.

According to police, on receipt of reliable information about huge quantity of IMFL/DIC stocked at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai, the combined team led by Kakching CDO officer in-charge subedar Birla Soraisham and Pallel PS sub-inspector Rocky Singh and Mothilphun Dangshawa accompanied by women personnel raided the suspected houses around 2.30 pm during which the said liquor consignments were recovered.

The seized IMFL/DIC liquors included 48 bottles of Sterling Reserve (750 ml), 144 bottles of 375 ml and 240 bottles of 180 ml; 240 bottles of MC Dowells (750 ml), 120 bottles of 375 ml and 240 bottles of 180 ml; 156 bottles of Old Monk (750 ml), 60 bottles of Officer's Choice (750 ml) and 48 bottles of 375 ml; 72 bottles of Royal Stag (750 ml) and 24 bottles of 375 ml; 24 bottles of Magic Moments Vodka (375 ml) and 96 bottles of 180 ml); 168 cans of King Fisher Beer (500 ml) and 24 bottles of 650 ml; 72 cans of Tuborg Beer (500 ml); 72 cans of Diablo Beer; 24 cans of Maximus (500 ml); 36 bottles of Imperial Blue (700 ml), 48 bottles of 350 ml and 48 bottles of Imperial Blue (175 ml); 48 bottles of MC Dowel (175 ml); eight glass bottles and 7 plastic bottles of Old Monk (750 ml); 18 glass bottles of Old Monk (375 ml); 21 glass bottles of Sterling Reserve (375) ml; 12 glass bottles of McDowel (180 ml); 14 bottles of Magic Moments Vodka (750 ml); 19 bottles of Magic Moments Vodka (375 ml); 16 cans of Diablo beer (500 ml); 26 bottles of DIC (1 litre) and 78 bottles of DIC (0.5 litre), the police informed.

The arrestees along with the seized liquor have been handed over to before Pallel PS for further investigations, the source added.
