NYC & RGKA launched at Chandel

Imphal, February 25 2014 :
Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt.of India, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chandel launched the National Youth Policy 2014 and Rajiv Gandhi KhelAbhiyan (NYC & RGKA) at the Indoor Stadium, Chandel today.
.L.NKashung, Additional Deputy Commissioner and MB.Thumdang, Principal, United College, Lambung, Chandel attended the inaugural function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Earlier, a Mass Youth Rally was flagged off by Y.Romio, Village Chief of Chandolpokpi from the DC Office Complex, Chandel to Indoor Stadium, Chandel HQ.
More than 500 youth leaders, School and College students, Teachers and Officials participated in the Rally.
Speaking on the occasion, L..NKashung, ADC, Chandel observed that at present 34% of India's Gross National Income is contributed by the youth who accounted for 27.5% of India's population.
He encouraged youth to develop self-confidence and participate fully in all round development of the nation.
W.Ibohal Singh, District Youth Coordinator of NYK explained that the National Youth Policy 2014 is a holistic Vision for the youth of India Enabling India's youth to realise their dreams, to empower youth of the country, to achieve their full potential and through them to enable India to find its rightful place in the community of nations.
On the other hand, National Youth Policy is the future policy imperative to achieve 5 key objectives across 11 priority areas for youth while Rajiv Gandhi KhelAbhiyan is an attempt to promote sports by developing 6,500 Sport Complexes in every rural Blocks of the Country along with providing necessary funding for conducting various competitions right from the block to the National level.

Thumdal, Principal United College, Lambung said that youth are the real asset of the nation and they will become leader of the future India.
So, they need development of Body mind and soul.
They should stay away from unwanted intoxicants which spoil their life, character etc.
