Imphal, June 29 2024:
My Manipur has appealed to all concerned to stop targeting the chief minister and divert their attention from sacking the CM to exploring ways to resolve the crisis.
Addressing a press meet at the Naoremthong Laishram Leirak branch office of My Manipur on Friday, the organisation's chief spokesperson Chingsubam Dewan said that N Biren has taken up several initiatives in the interest of the state and its people in his two terms.
War on drugs and crackdown on illegal encroachment in reserved forest areas are among the most crucial initiatives he has taken up so far and these triggered the eurrent conflict in the state.
Unfortunately, people, who are supposed to be supporting him for such initiatives are targeting the CM using derogatory remarks, Dewan said.
He also said that such act of targeting the CM is nothing but an attempt to divert the public attention from the core issue of the crisis.
Kuki people are able to put aside their political differences and unite for their common demand of a separate administration.
On the other hand, there are politicians among the Meetei community who are taking opportunity of the situation and trying to pull down one another for their own gain, he observed and urged all to stop such bickering and unite for the sake of the state, its identity and integrity.
