15 held in NIT brick wall theft case

Lamphel police arrested 15 people on the charge of breaking down the wall of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Langol under Lamphel police station and stealing the disassembled bricks.
All the arrested people were produced before the court of CJM, Imphal West on Wednesday, which remanded them to judicial custody.
According to a police report, NIT authority filed a complaint report at Lamphel PS informing that a portion of the Institute's wall was found collapsed and the disassembled bricks stolen.
Based on the complaint, three teams led by Lamphel police station OC arrested 15 people from near the Home Guard office on May 21 .
The teams also seized two autorickshaws, one Tata 407, one Tata DI and one Tata Ace Zip used in transporting the disassembled bricks and steel.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Wangkhem Tomba (45) s/o (L) W Hira of Kharasom Awang Leikai, Thokchom Sanjoy Singh (39) s/o Th Eto Singh of Gwaltabi Maning Leikai, Sagolsem Naresh Singh (35) s/o S Radhamohan Singh of Khundrakpam Awang Leikai, Khaidem Nanao Singh (36) s/o Kh Nabakeshor Singh of Oksu Maning Leikai, Achoibam Jiban Singh (49) s/o (L) A Ngangba of Nongpok Sanjenbam Shangsabi, Moirangthem Gopeshor (33) s/o M Suranjoy Singh of Tentha Khangbam Mayai Leikai, Khangenbam Naoba Singh (27) s/o Kh Joy Singh of Samaram Maning Leikai, Usham Yaima (47) s/o Usham Pakchao of Pukhao Ahallup, Khangabam Amarjeet Singh (23) s/o Kh Joy of Samaram Maning Leikai, Naorem Chingkhei Meitei (40) s/o N Amusana Meitei of Pukhao Ahallup Makha Leikai, Sarungbam Sanathoi (38) s/o S Brajamani of Pukhao Ahallup, Moirangthem Amarjit Singh (32) s/o M Hemo Singh of Pukhrambam Pukhao Ahallup, Thokchom Shyam (43) s/o Th Tollapishak of Pukhao Naharup, Tourangbam Bumeshor (45) s/o T Tombisana of Pukhao Khabam and Sagolsem Romen (38) s/o Lukhoi Meitei of Pukhao Ahallup.
Lamphel police station has registered a case against all 15 of them and produced them before the court on Wednesday, which remanded them to judicial custody.
