Speaker adjourns MLA disqualification case hearing

Speaker Th Lokeshwar has on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the disqualification case of two MLAs till July 16. Konthoujam AC MLA K Sharat Singh and Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam have been slapped with cases on the charge of violating 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution by various petitioners.
The case hearing at the Tribunal Court of the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly started from 10.30 am.
Manipur Trinamool chief MLA Th Shyamkumar had filed a case demanding disqualification of party MLA K Sharat for his alleged 'anti-party' activities.
On the other hand, Lok Janshakti MLA Karam Shyam has also been facing a similar case of violating the 10th Schedule (Anti-Defection Law) for his alleged anti-party activities.
He faced three similar cases from three different petitioners namely K Sharatchandra Sharma, N Momon Meitei and Kh Vimal Singh.
The Speaker fixed the next hearing for these cases on July 16 .
Any filing of documents by the petitioners' sides may be done before July 14 .
