Patient dies inside car after long detention by ILPS agitators

Imphal, August 17 2015:
A 75-year-old man from Changangei Awang Leikai died on Sunday night at around 11.30 after ILPS agitators detained him at Ghari Awang Leikai.
Yumnam Iboton Singh of Changangei Awang Leikai was taking to the hospital in a car by his family members when a group of ILPS supporters stopped them at Ghari Awang Leikai.
The Maruti car was badly vandalized by the agitators.
The patient's daughters Ramani and Asha who were also in the car got injured as they were hit by broken glasses of the vehicle.
The death of Yumnam Iboton Singh was due to the long detention by the agitators who were intoxicated at the time, sources alleged.
The agitators who were under the influence of alcohol failed to listen to them and instead they used stones, irons and catapults while damaging the car, the sources said.
When they reached RIMS, Iboton was declared brought death.
