The Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has condoled the untimely demise of its cadre, self-styled private Namoijam Sanatomba alias Gollai alias Aboi of Manipur People's Army (MPA) due to deteriorating health condition, and also offered revolutionary salute to the departed soul.
A statement issued by the Front's media coordinator Charairongba Thokchom informed that Sanatomba, born on February 7, 1999, was the lone son of four siblings born to Namoijam Tonsana and (late) Tombi of Phougakchao Ikhai Makha Leikai.
Since his teen years, Sanatomba had a strong sense of patriotism and joined the Front's armed wing MPA in May last year.
Sanatomba upheld the organisation's ideology and dedicated his life to the cause.
He was posted at the base camp of 3rd Brigade along the border and moved to his posting along with a column of troops in December last year.
For the last five months, he carried out his duty of ensuring security of the base camp.
He also fought against PDF and KNF (B) recently when the latter ambushed the, base camp for around seven days as well as during movement of the MPA armies.
He arrived at the MPA GHQ on May 17 along with other troops and went on leave to meet his family members on May 21 .
Unfortunately, he suffered heart attack while with his family members on May 22 and was rushed to hospital, where he breathed his last.
His bereaved family is currently staying in a relief camp at Moirang Khunou after their house was burned by Kukis.
Despite the hardships faced by his family, Sanatomba joined MPA to be part of the movement leaving behind his family, which is a rare and courageous act of patriotism, the statement said.
It further informed that Sanatomba was a well-behaved, courageous and kind hearted man, who followed the order of his superiors with dedication.
The party honours him with high regards for his contribution in such a short period, the statement said, while conveying that UNLF and its armed wing MPA share the hardships suffered by his family.
