Organizations observe International Yoga Day

International Day of Yoga has been observed by various organizations at different parts of Manipur on Sunday.
Joint Director ICAR RC, NEHR, Manipur Centreorganized an 'Awareness Campaign-cum-Demonstration on Yoga' at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre.Mrs Hijam Ranjeeta, Chief therapist, Manipur Yoga Therapy and Research Centre, Manipur along with her colleagues demonstrated 'Yoga' at the centre.
National Cadet Corps (NCC), the premier youth organization at the state also performed yoga to commemorate the First International Yoga Day at 18 venues spread all over Manipur on Sunday.Under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter, Imphal and North Eastern Region directorate more then 6500 cadets participated at 18 venues in Manipur State.
Nehru YuvaKendra, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubalas a part of worldwide observance of International Yoga Day also observed the day on theme of Yoga for harmony and peace.
Meanwhile, Associate NCC Officer, NCC Troop, Nambol, 14th (M) Bn NCC, Imphal, 86 Bn.
CRPF, The Yoga Physique Institute and Studies, Manipur also celebrated the day at their locations by practicing Yoga.

NCC observed the day at Rayburn College Campus, CCpur where 379 NCC Corps from Bethany Christian Higher Sec .School, CCpur, Govt.H/S, Rayburn H/S and Rayburn College participated with zeal and enthusiasm.
State NSS Cell, Manipur and NSS units of Biramangol College, Sawombung also observed the Yoga Day under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt.of India at Biramangol College, Sawombung.
The said programme was also held at CC Hr.
Sec School, Ramlal Paul Hr.
Sec School, Johnstone Hr.
Sec School and Mangol Nganbi College, Ningthoukhong.
Directorate of Ayush, Manipur Govt.also observed Yoga Day at Indian Medical Assocaition (IMA) where Manipur Chief Secretary, PC Lomkungaattended the function as President.
Meanwhile, Youth Modern Club, Haraorou celebrated the day under the sponsorship of Manipur Seva Committee, Imphal.
Such similar functions were also organized by NYK, Imphal at Lamphelpat, Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yoga Samiti at Kakwa Naorem Leikai, Royal Academy of Law, Oinam at the College, BJP Kumbi Mandal at Kumbi Bazar, BJP Thangmeiband at the residence of Meinam Bhorot of Nagamapal Meinam Leikai.
Meanwhile Popular Front of India, Manipur State on the International Day of Yoga has appealed to all not to bring any co-relations between Yoga and exercises with religious or political activities.
KM Sharif, Chairman, Popular Front of India has stated that different forms of Yoga used to exhibit on such days and people exercised it for health.
When the Govt.campaigns to give a new taste to minorities, it also forces to take it as a Hindu religious festival by including "Suryanamashkar" .
It further said that the Front's Physical Education Programme "Yogaashan" never tried to make any relation with its religious or political activities.
Like every year, the programme will be organized from October 1-15, it stated.
