Bandh hits normal life in Andro A/C

Imphal, September 22 2015:
A dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Kambam Ibemhal Devi in Andro constituency area of Imphal East hit normal life on Tuesday.
The 66-year-old woman from Yairipok Poiroukhongjin Kaina Maya was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her house on August 18 this year.
Reports had said Rs 1.2 lakh was also found stolen from the house that day.
The JAC has said it was a murder case.
The bandh had been called to protest against a court order granting bail to the four accused in the murder case on Monday.

Residents of Andro took out a torch-rally on Monday night protesting against the court order.
The protesters during the demonstration stormed the Andro Police Station late at night.
Scuffles between the protesters and police were reported.
But no untoward incident was reported from the area.
Bandh supporters obstructed Yairipok-Ngariyan-Imphal road by throwing burning tyres and wooden logs.
Protesters also blocked the road near Yairipok Thambalnu Keithel.
All shops downed shutters due to the strike.
