Hailstorm-hit house rebuilt through crowd funding

Imphal, May 20 2024:
The house of one Huidrom Premlata of Khumbong Mamang Leikai, which was destroyed by the intense hailstorm that hit the state on May 5, has been rebuilt with funds collected through crowd funding.
The newly rebuild house was handed over to its owner on Monday.
Singjamei 360 and people of the Manipur took major role in mobilising the funds and ultimately managed to pool in Rs 5,08,072 from a total of 1394 donors.
The solemn event of handing over the newly rebuild house to its owner was also attended by social scientist Dhanabir Laishram, who is also the advisor of Singjamei 360; Arambai Tenggol Unit 14 commander Bisho Leishangthem; Friday Chuhing proprietor Lokendro Longjam; Imphal West Students' Club, Khumbong general secretary Hemanta Oinam; and senior members of Singjamei 360 .
Environmental activist Manikanta Mutum also planted trees around the newly constructed house while Miranda Flowers provided flowers for decorative purposes of the house.
Singer cum actor Sadananda Hamom, Pena artiste Andrew Laiphrakpam, music composer Rabisangkar and folk artiste Benita Laishram were among other notable persons present on the occasion.
