Imphal, August 23 2015:
JCILPS has been refraining from talking with the Government as no definite response or communication has been received from the State Government, said JCILPS convenor-in-charge Khomdram Ratan.
A public meeting was held today at Khurai Lamlong under the aegis of the Coordination Body on ILPS, Khurai.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the public meeting, Ratan said that no definite response has been received from the State Government regarding the 10 resolutions adopted at the 2nd People's Convention held at MDU Hall on August 20 .
The third round of meeting held between JCILPS and the State Government on August 19 deliberated on the five points suggested by JCILPS.
Even though a joint statement was issued to media after the meeting, JCILPS made it clear that a public meeting would be held before holding the next round of talk.
Accordingly, a public meeting was held on the next day and all the resolutions adopted at the meeting were conveyed to the Government.
JCILPS would not talk with the Government in haste given the critical situation of the movement.
"JCILPS will wait for a definite response from the Government but this does not mean we would not talk with the Government, Ratan said.
JCILPS is only waiting for the right moment.
The ongoing movement is not for any particular community but for all the indigenous communities of Manipur.
The issue has not been resolved yet.
Mortal remains of Robinhood are still in morgue while many people have been undertaking hunger strike.
Scores of people injured in the course of the movement are also undergoing treatment.
He then appealed to all the people to carry on different forms of democratic agitation.
Lamlong Keithel Phambi Apunba Nupi Lup president Athokpam (O) Apabi, Coordinating Body on ILPS, Khurai chairman Y Deben, JCILPS consultative Committee (drafting) member Yumnamcha Dillipkumar and JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood chairman Ch Hemchand attended the public meeting as presidium members.
The meeting resolved to support the movement being spearheaded by the JCILPS.
To refrain from activities which may project any mass movement in wrong light and relax any sort of agitation for press/media, medical and religious functions was the second resolution.
To cultivate healthy work culture amongst the people of Khurai and adjoining areas was the third and final resolution of the public meeting.
