MLA Shyamkumar today visited Naorem (O) Pishak-macha Leima and Maibam Tathot who are on hunger strike at Yairipok Laimanai Thongkhong and Yairipok Bishnunaha respectively demanding enforcement of ILPS or similar legislation.
Taking serious note of the deteriorating health condition of the two hunger strikers, Shyamkumar appealed to them to break their fast as a Bill for protection of indigenous people would be passed by the State Assembly.
Saying that all the MLAs of the State support the popular demand for enforcement of ILPS or similar legislation, Shyamkumar maintained that he would resign if the Bill for protection of indigenous people cannot be passed by the State Assembly.
